Osa was famous as a writer, photographer, filmmaker, explorer, aviator, fashion designer and business woman. Her bestseller, I Married Adventure, is still in print. From 1917-1936 she and husband Martin were the first to film wildernesses of Kenya, the Congo, British North Borneo and the Solomon and New Hebrides islands. Movie fans eagerly awaited new releases. Their films document a wilderness that has long since vanished and tribal cultures and customs that have ceased to exist.

Jacquelyn Borgeson Zimmer, museum curator, presents the program. She also provides an overview of all the new and recently updated exhibits. And, especially for kids, she has some coloring sheets from the Johnsons’ daily comic strips and African drums to try out.
