Summer Reading and Learning Program 2022 with Ms Lesa
Each summer, the library promotes reading, learning, and fun at the library with reading challenges, extra storytimes, art and craft projects, and even a Concert this year! The program opens Monday, June 6 and runs through July 29, with the reading challenges ending August 1st and a wrap-up party on August 5th.
Join us this summer to read, explore, learn, grow, and HAVE FUN!
Calendar of Events:
Week 1
- Monday, June 6, Registration opens and summer reading and learning program begins!
- Wednesday, June 8 at 10:30 am NEW – Morning Library Littles Storytime – stories and songs in the Library meeting room.
- 2 pm: Crafternoon. Make a paper roll crab
- Thursday, June 9 a t 2 pm: Library Littles Storytime (repeat of June 8 storytime, in case you or your little want to hear the stories again!)
Week 2
- Tuesday, June 14 at 2 pm: Crafternoon. Make a washer necklace. *Sign up required by June 10.
Alan Cunningham Family Concert on Tue., June 14 at 3:30 pm

- Wednesday, June 15 at 10:30 am: Morning Library Littles Storytime
- Thursday, June 16 at 2 pm: Library Littles Playdate – Join us for open play to help with your child’s development.
- Friday, June 17 at 2 pm: Crafternoon. Make a Socktopus. *Signup required by June 14.
Week 3
- Monday, June 20 at 2 pm: WATER FUN and FOAM on the west lawn of the Flewharty Annex (behind the library)
- Wednesday, June 22 at 10:30 am: Morning Library Littles Storytime
- Thursday, June 23 at 6 pm: MOVIE Night at the Library featuring your favorite clown fish…
Week 4 (This has been so much fun, we need a break to catch our breath!)
- Tuesday, June 28 at 2 pm: Crafternoon. It’s still a mystery…stay tuned!
Week 5
- Monday, July 4 – Closed for Independence Day!
- Wednesday, July 6 at 10:30 am: Morning Library Littles Storytime
- Thursday, July 7 at 2 pm: Library Littles Storytime (repeat of July 6)
Week 6
- Tuesday, July 12 at 2 pm: Crafternoon. Make a stress ball. *Signup required by July 8.
- Wednesday, July 13 at 10:30 am: Morning Library Littles Storytime
- Thursday, July 14 at 2 pm: Library Littles Storytime (repeat of July 13)
- Friday, July 15 at 2 pm: Crafternoon. Make a Clamshell Light *Signup required by July 12.
Week 7
- Wednesday, July 20 at 10:30 am: Morning Library Littles Storytime
- 2 pm: Crafternoon. Make your own Sand Dollar. *Signup required by July 19.
- Thursday, July 21 at 2 pm: Library Littles Playdate
Week 8
- Tuesday, July 26 at 2 pm: Crafternoon. Bring a t-shirt and make it artful with paint splatters!
- Thursday, July 28 at 6 pm: MOVIE Night at the Library featuring a dolphin named Winter…
Time to Celebrate!!!
- Monday, Aug 1: Deadline for turning in your map to earn prizes
- FRIDAY, AUGUST 5: Wrap-up Party!
